Caterpillar’s total dividends have grown at a compound growth rate of 8.22% per year. We use this number in our model.
Our previous objection to CAGR (when projecting Sales) doesn’t hold here since various starting and end points yield pretty much the same estimates.
We prefer to use total dividends too, as opposed to dividends per share.
